KOMO maintains confidence in modernization of construction legislation
The discussion of the Wkb (draft Building Quality Assurance Act) in the Senate on July 4 this year resulted in the Cabinet to amend the bill. The amended bill will then take the parliamentary route again.
Press Release: First SKG-IKOB KOMO certificate for hydrophobics
On June 19 last, Hendrik-Jan Verweij, General Manager at Remmers BV, received from Harm van Dartel, Certification Manager at SKG-IKOB Certification, the first komo certificate for hydrophobic products. This quality declaration indicates that the company and the products concerned meet the requirements of the Assessment Guideline BRL 1154.

Burglary resistance vs. bullet and/or explosion resistance
A burglar-resistant construction is not necessarily equal to a bullet- and/or explosion-resistant construction. It is increasingly common for manufacturers of windows, doors and (roller) shutters to look for a construction that is both burglar-resistant and bullet- and/or explosion-resistant. This is no easy task. Construction requirements and the form of protection are different.

Private quality assurance in construction leads to more customer-friendliness and faster processes. At least in England, the Economic Institute for Construction (EIB) concludes. Also in Germany, Ireland and Norway the experiences with private quality assurance companies are positive.

Draft Order in Council of the Wkb published
At the beginning of this week in the framework of the so-called "preview" procedure, the draft AMVB for the Private Quality Assurance for Construction was published. The AMVB provides a more detailed interpretation of the sections of the Act. The intention is for organizations to respond to the draft after which it can be submitted to parliament.
