SKG-IKOB accredited for testing tongue-and-groove purlin shoes
The accreditation scope of SKG-IKOB has recently been expanded to include the testing of tongue and sash products. Producers of these products must establish the performance of load-bearing capacity and deformation under load with tests carried out by a designated body (Notified Body).
These tests are therefore an essential part of preparing the declaration of performance for the legally required CE marking. SKG-IKOB now carries out these tests as the designated body.
A raveel-/gording shoe, in English joist hanger, is a support structure used to mount a wooden beam, such as a raveel or purlin beam on or to masonry.
The extension of accreditation relates to tests for products that fall within the scope of product standard NEN-EN 845-1+A1, Specifications for ancillary products for stone structures - Part 1: Cavity anchors, wall anchors, railing/girdle shoes and support products.
The tests for determining the load-bearing capacity and deformation under load of raveel/girdle shoes are carried out, as prescribed from this product standard, on the basis of the test standard NEN-EN 846-8+A1 Test methods for ancillary products for stone structures - Part 8: Determination of the load-bearing capacity and load deformation behavior of beam girders.
SKG-IKOB is also accredited to perform testing on the following other masonry ancillary products: cavity anchors, brackets (support products) and lintels.
