AFNL supports introduction of Quality Assurance Act

The board and members of Aannemersfederatie Nederland Bouw en Infra (AFNL) expressed their support for the introduction of the Wet Kwaliteitsborging Bouwen (Building Quality Assurance Act) at a Meeting of Members and preferably in the short term.

With a letter to the editor AFNL responds to the confusion caused by the coverage in Cobouw about the Quality Assurance Act and AFNL's position therein. Contrary to the 'spin' that AFNL would have made according to Cobouw, AFNL - although the law is not perfect - stands behind the Bill on Quality Assurance for Building:

"AFNL supports the principles of the Wkb: it offers bona fide construction companies, which stand for construction quality, an opportunity to distinguish themselves. The craftsmanship that the members of the AFNL member associations stand for is thus given the appreciation it deserves. For the (stricter) liability these companies do not run away from. In this way, the Wkb will contribute to building quality and improving the image of the construction industry."
