Private quality assurance cannot exist without an authorized instrument. With KiK from KOMO, construction parties work smoothly together on quality.
Under the new construction system (Building Quality Assurance Act), it is mandatory for construction works requiring a permit to use an 'instrument' approved by the Permit Organization TO. With such an instrument, both the requirements of the law and private quality requirements can be met.
Press Release: Certification of sealing materials for airtight construction possible
Sealing products used for airtight construction can from now on be SKG-IKOB KOMO certified. This is possible on the basis of the BRL 2804-1 that went into effect at the end of last year. This gives contractors and clients the certainty that the chosen products are suitable for their application.
First VMS industry certificates awarded at Infratech
On Thursday, January 19, the first two industry certificates of the VMS were awarded at the Infratech in Rotterdam. The certificate matches the requirements of brl 9334 and is thus an alternative to the existing training requirements mentioned in the BRL. Craftsmen with years of experience thus do not have to follow costly training courses to meet the requirements for certification.
SKG-IKOB welcomes IsoSun back
SKG-IKOB welcomes IsoSun back as a certificate holder. The Best-based insulation company insulates existing cavity walls with rock wool, glass wool and EPS beads. IsoSun is also a VENIN member and has been temporarily certified by a fellow institute.
As a certifying body for CSR, SKG IKOB itself must of course set a good example!
By investing in LED lighting, which is obviously more energy efficient than the existing lighting, we generate energy savings of 8,018 kW per year. Besides the savings in kW, the fixtures are also eligible for the Energy Investment Allowance (EIA). Together with Vindsubsidies and Mol Installatie Techniek we decided to purchase fixtures that meet the specific requirements within the EIA (at least 110 lumens per watt).
Article trade journal Gevelbouw: CE marking for fire and/or smoke-resistant windows and doors
As of November 1, 2016, CE marking according to NEN-EN 16034 is possible for pedestrian doors, industrial, commercial garage doors and windows with fire and/or smoke protection properties. The transition period will end on November 1, 2019, and from then on CE marking on these products will be mandatory.

Earthquakes were until recently a phenomenon that was not considered in the Netherlands. Because of the earthquakes in Groningen caused by gas extraction, this need is now there. To determine whether the masonry in Groningen can handle this new load, a research project was initiated.

First professional mineral wool examinations conducted by SKG-IKOB
On September 23, the first professional exams for processing mineral wool as cavity wall insulation were held. The examining SKG-IKOB Certification had the employees of Insulation company Pluimers visit Geldermalsen for this purpose. The exams are part of the requirements of the KOMO certification for the application of mineral wool.
