In the SKG-IKOB laboratory, hard work is being done on the new test wall for post-insulation with mineral wool. The engineering phase has been completed and the pre-insulation wall is ready. In order to be able to test all the situations we encounter in practice, the dimensions are larger than those of the previous test wall. 

In 2015, SKG-IKOB, in cooperation with the VNV and some cleaning companies, among others, started drafting a new guideline for cleaning facades.

B&B Locks bvba from Wijnegem in Belgium has obtained the Certificate of Constancy of performance on EN 14846: 2008 (Building hardware - Locks and bolts - Electromagnetically operated locks and striker plates).

On Thursday, November 26, the General Assembly (ALV) of the Association of the Plastic Facade Elements Industry (VKG) took place at SKG-IKOB in Geldermalsen.

SKG-IKOB Certification has a new test rig for testing facade elements and curtain walls for air and water tightness, strength and stiffness. Due to the large dimensions of the test rig, testing of large facade elements is possible. 

KOMO, the expert on certified products and processes in the construction and installation sector, is making a catalog of specification specifications available to specifiers free of charge. This KOMO specification catalog integrates with the Open Specification Format (OSF) of the software suppliers Cube, Ibis, DUNCAN and De Twee Snoeken. 

The Technical Bureau Afbouw and SKG-IKOB Certification recently signed a cooperation agreement. The purpose of this agreement is to make distinction on quality easier for finishing companies and to achieve maximum efficiency with quality controls that complement each other.

As previously communicated, the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU C226/24 dated 10-07-2015) formally declared EN 16034:2014 in force. 

The completely updated Handbook WoonKeur 2015 has been published. In addition to the requirements for WoonKeur New Construction, the new handbook now also includes the requirements for Woonkeur Existing homes. WoonKeur sets requirements for the user safety, accessibility and future-proofing of homes and residential buildings.

The post-insulation seminar organized in cooperation with Duurzaam Gebouwd is now behind us. We can look back on a successful afternoon with an interesting mix of six speakers. 

By publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU C226/24 dated 10-07-2015), EN 16034:2014 has now been formally declared in force.

On July 24, Olaf van Panhuys and Guido Soontiëns for SKG-IKOB Certification presented the first KOMO product certificates on BRL 0702 for plastic profiles to Mark Beukert and René van Genderen of GEALAN Fenster-Systeme GmbH. With these certificates, Gealan demonstrates that its plastic profiles are suitable for the construction of plastic windows and doors.

A successful mini-symposium on liability and insurance implications for guarantors within the new Building Quality Assurance Act took place on June 9 in our new building, which is ideally suited for it. Speakers were Haje van Egmond, Monika Chao-Duivis and Freek Schipper.
