Update new implementation guideline: façade cleaning
In 2015, SKG-IKOB, in cooperation with the VNV and some cleaning companies, among others, started drafting a new guideline for cleaning facades.
The scope is limited to cleaning mineral substrates. Using action, chemistry and time, it is possible to clean facades properly. Insufficient knowledge of the type of contamination or the substrate can lead to mistakes in cleaning and (sometimes irreparable) damage to the substrate. Because there are many different types of companies working in the industry that are not all facade specialists, there was a need to capture the knowledge in a document and be able to certify companies with the KOMO mark.
On the initiative of the VNV, SKG-IKOB engaged a working group with experts from the industry. This working group has drafted an implementation guideline. In recent months there has been coordination with the ERM foundation in a working group for the separate chapter prepared for monuments. This coordination phase has been completed and the new 'URL' is expected to be published in April. This is the critique version. After processing responses from the market, the document will be finalized.
The new 'URL' is part of the certification scheme under BRL 2826 that includes the existing scopes of grouting and masonry. Companies already certified under BRL 2826 can thus easily expand their scope.
