SKG-IKOB’s Position on UF Foam and the Ongoing GGD Investigation

SKG-IKOB Certification is aware of the recent reports regarding the use of UF foam (urea-formaldehyde foam) and of the Zembla broadcast.

We endorse the statement issued by VENIN Isolerend Nederland.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) is currently conducting a supplementary investigation into the use of UF foam as an insulation material. Naturally, we will cooperate fully with this investigation if requested to do so.

De Zinkmeesters & BRL 5212: Craftsmanship under independent supervision

Metal roofing and siding require true craftsmanship. The installation of zinc, copper, and lead roof, facade, and gutter systems is specialized work that places high demands on quality, safety, and durability. To demonstrate this quality, there is the BRL 5212 assessment guideline, the KOMO process certificate for the installation of metal roof, facade, and gutter systems.
SKG-IKOB is the independent certification body that assesses and certifies this process.

Construction company Vrolijk from Breda is the first contractor in the Netherlands to be certified according to the Recognition Guideline ERL 5029: Quality Assurance by the Builder . This certification, developed by SKG-IKOB Certificatie, aligns with the requirements of the Quality Assurance in Construction Act (Wkb) and confirms that Vrolijk possesses a demonstrably functioning quality system with which risks in the construction process are managed.

Realistic field testing of (post-)insulation materials possible in innovative test chamber

Geldermalsen, September 25, 2025 – The performance of (re-)insulation materials for walls, floors, and roofs can now be realistically tested thanks to the innovative insulation test chamber opened this month by the Dutch certification body SKG-IKOB. Previously, insulation materials could only be tested to a limited extent, and only the theoretical insulation value was determined.
