Module on Financial, Administrative, and Management Oversight of Homeowners’ Associations (BRL 5016-01)
The certification process consists of two parts: it assesses the extent to which the organization’s structure complies with the requirements of the BRL, including internal quality procedures, complaint handling, and staffing. In addition, the audit will assess how homeowners’ associations (HOAs) are actually managed within the organization. For this purpose, HOAs are selected at random and reviewed for matters such as meetings, annual reports, bylaws, and insurance. The scope of the audit depends on the number of HOAs managed by the organization and the number of staff members.
Module for Developing Long-Term Maintenance Plans (BRL 5016-02)
Under BRL 5016-02 as well, the review consists of an organizational component and a random sample check of the long-term maintenance plans that have been drawn up. Here, too, a random sample will be used to examine how the long-term maintenance plans have been drawn up and whether they meet the requirements of BRL 5016-02.
