Sector-wide breakthrough: Construction company Vrolijk the first to be certified with ERL 5029

SKG-IKOB Certification issues first certificate for 'Quality Assurance by the Builder'

Construction company Vrolijk from Breda is the first contractor in the Netherlands to be certified according to the Recognition Guideline ERL 5029: Quality Assurance by the Builder . This certification, developed by SKG-IKOB Certificatie, aligns with the requirements of the Quality Assurance in Construction Act (Wkb) and confirms that Vrolijk possesses a demonstrably functioning quality system with which risks in the construction process are managed.

The official presentation took place on Tuesday, September 30, during which Alexander Boele, Quality Manager and Wkb Coordinator at SKG-IKOB, personally presented the certificate to Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk. With this recognition, an important step is taken in the further professionalization of quality assurance within the construction sector.

Strengthening cooperation between builder and quality assurer
The ERL 5029 certification offers private quality assurance providers insight into and confidence in the working methods of certified builders. By systematically managing construction risks and conducting internal quality controls, a more efficient collaboration is created between builder and assurance provider. This contributes to increasing construction quality and also yields economic benefits for all parties involved.

Outlook on consequence classes 2 and 3
The certification currently applies to consequence class 1. Construction Company Vrolijk is working on expanding to consequence classes 2 and 3, so that more complex construction projects can also fall under certified quality assurance.

SKG-IKOB Certification encourages construction companies to demonstrably work on quality and invites them to follow Vrolijk's example.
