Legal obligation CE marking escape doors
Manufacturers of escape doors in exterior walls are required by law to be certified to standard EN 14351-1. To this end, they must have a documented Factory Production Control (FPC) system. This is to ensure that the escape doors placed on the market meet the performance listed in the CE mark.
The FPC system must consist of written procedures, regular inspections and tests and/or assessments.
As an independent Notified Body designated by Europe, SKG-IKOB provides this certification. A Certificate of constancy of performance then officially declares that both the company and the products meet all the requirements set in the context of CE marking.
These requirements apply not only to manufacturers of escape doors, but also to manufacturers and suppliers of hardware used in fire or smoke doors, such as emergency openers (EN 179), panic locks (EN 1125) and hinges (EN 1935).
SKG-IKOB is designated as Notified Body and therefore your partner for performing ITT tests and certifications in the context of CE marking of escape doors and hardware products, among others.
