SKG-IKOB Notified Body for NEN-EN 16034 certification
As a Notified Body, SKG-IKOB Certification can issue certificates on the basis of NEN-EN 16034. This allows manufacturers of fire and/or smoke resistant windows and doors to demonstrate that they meet all the requirements and conditions set in this standard.
On March 1 SKG-IKOB received the message from the Council for Accreditation (RvA) that the accreditation investigation on the NEN-EN 16034 has been completed with a positive result. This means that SKG-IKOB as Notified Body (NB0960) can now issue certificates under accreditation on the basis of the NEN-EN 16034. Achieving the accreditation shows that SKG-IKOB has the necessary knowledge and experience as an independent party to supervise the quality control and production of manufacturers of fire and/or smoke-resistant doors.
On November 1, 2016, the product standard NEN-EN 16034 for fire and/or smoke-resistant doors came into force and the three-year coexistence period also started. Manufacturers can already now obtain certification from SKG-IKOB on the NEN-EN 16034. After certification by SKG-IKOB, it is permitted to state the performance of products placed on the market in a CE mark and on a declaration of performance (DoP). The obligation for certification only applies after the end of the coexistence period, i.e. as of November 1, 2019.
