Private quality assurance cannot exist without an authorized instrument. With KiK from KOMO, construction parties work smoothly together on quality.
Under the new construction system (Building Quality Assurance Act), it is mandatory for construction works requiring a permit to use an 'instrument' approved by the Permit Organization TO. With such an instrument, both the requirements of the law and private quality requirements can be met.
KiK, the first quality assurance instrument, is ready. It will be submitted to the TO for approval as soon as possible. KiK was developed based on user specifications from 30 (industry) organizations in and around the construction industry.
KiK stands for KOMO instrument Quality Assurance and is available in three modules, which use the same system: KiK for developers & prescribers, KiK for builders and KiK for quality assurance professionals. Because the modules are closely aligned, the instrument enables all parties involved to speak the same language and thus work smoothly together to achieve the desired building quality. In all 'consequence classes' that the Wkb recognizes and for all types of structures in housing, utility, civil engineering and hydraulic engineering. KiK can also be used as a quality-enhancing tool for structures that do not require a permit. This makes KiK the connecting factor in building quality.
By practice, for practice
Because KiK was developed by KOMO at the request of and in close cooperation with the market, for this purpose united in the Platform Voorbereiding Stelselherziening(PVS), per user group all benefits have been brought together and mutually coordinated. This recommendation is supported by practical tests (pilots) in actual construction. Based on experience, any further refinements to KiK will be implemented. KiK is a dynamic instrument, which KOMO continually updates on the basis of user input, among other things.
The quality assurance officer plays first fiddle
The benefits of KiK for general construction quality as well as the specific benefits for each target group are clearly laid out on the website kik-komo.nl. This site also explains how KiK works. Under the Wkb: no project requiring a permit without a qualified quality assurance officer and an approved instrument. With KiK, the quality assurance agency plays first fiddle: leading, but always in harmony with the other actors in the construction column. And that works in everyone's interests. It is now possible to register for KiK: modules, prices and conditions.
