Press Release: SKG-IKOB expands anti-theft testing
SKG-IKOB Certification is expanding its anti-theft testing to include testing of two-wheeler locks and mechanical security devices for vehicles. The company is taking over the activities of TASS International (former TNO), which is discontinuing these mechanical security activities.
SKG-IKOB will test the two-wheeler locks in accordance with ART inspection regulation MBT-04. Most insurance companies require an ART MBT-04 approved lock when taking out theft insurance. The ART foundation is committed to preventing theft of two-wheeled vehicles through more and better prevention. The following parties are represented in this foundation: ANWB, BOVAG, RAI and insurers. Kiwa SCM performs the certification work for this.
In addition, SKG-IKOB will test vehicle mechanical security devices in accordance with VbV's (Verzekeringsbureau Voertuigcriminaliteit) inspection regulation MP03, with Kiwa SCM also providing certification. These include caravan and trailer locks, wheel clamps, gearbox locks, as well as outboard motors and (sea) container locks.
TASS International has transferred these activities with the associated testing equipment to SKG-IKOB because of its long history and internationally respected position in the field of burglar and anti-theft testing and certification of products for the construction industry. Both companies will work closely together during the transition period to make the transition for customers as smooth as possible.
