Press release: First SKG-IKOB KOMO attestation class 5 burglar resistance
On December 12, Remko Mathijssen, Commercial Director at MHB from Herveld, received the first KOMO attestation for Class 5 burglar-proof doors from Olaf van Panhuys, Director at SKG-IKOB Certification.
MHB has had tests carried out for projects in which very high requirements are set for burglar resistance. For doors with Class 5 burglar resistance, the resistance to a manual attack in terms of time is five times longer than for Class 2 and three times longer than for Class 3. The company can now supply both single doors and double doors fitted with a panel and an anti-panic lock with KOMO certificate burglar resistance class 5.
SKG-IKOB has a special test stand on which burglar resistance tests are carried out. This is suitable for test elements up to 6000 mm (w) x 4000 mm (h) and developed for tests according to NEN 5096 and EN 1627 to 1630. When testing, SKG-IKOB puts itself in the shoes of the burglar and uses tools ranging from screwdrivers and hammers to heavy grinders to test whether it is possible to create a passage opening in a product.
By testing a product for burglar resistance, a company convinces its customers that products such as windows, doors and speedgates meet the requirements of the Dutch Building Decree (NEN 5096) and those of the customer. The outcome of the test can also be converted into a SKG-IKOB KOMO certificate.
