Draft BRL 1518 "Pouring of concrete mortar at the construction site" published for comment

On May 8, 2020, SKG-IKOB Certificatie B.V. and Kiwa Nederland B.V. are publishing the draft of BRL 1518 "Pouring concrete mortar on the construction site" for comment. The comment period runs until June 19, 2020.

SKG-IKOB and Kiwa have drawn up the BRL under the responsibility of the Board of Experts for Concrete Mortar and Mortars. This BRL makes it possible for contractors pouring concrete to demonstrate that their activities meet the requirements in NEN-EN 13670:2009 The manufacture of concrete structures. This is another step in quality assurance of the whole of design, raw materials, concrete mortar and concrete construction.

The BRL includes requirements for the process of on-site pouring of cementitious concrete mortar, post-treatment and finishing of the concrete.

The purpose of the BRL is to ensure that in-situ concrete construction ultimately meets the requirements set for it from the design point of view, such as shape and lifespan.

The BRL is initially broad in scope, with a number of specific topics listed in Section 5.9, the requirements of which may be further elaborated in the BRL at a later stage.
