New implementation guideline for insulation boards

SKG-IKOB will soon issue a new implementation guideline for the installation of insulation boards in cavity walls. This regulation is part of BRL 2826. KOMO certification for post-insulation has existed for some time. Now the application of insulation material in new buildings will also be certified.

The importance of proper installation of insulation material is increasing. With the increasing insulation values of the building envelope, the adverse effect of any leaks increases. Checking the proper functioning of the insulating envelope is also more feasible today. This is done with blower-through and thermographic equipment. Industry and contractors have a common interest in ensuring the quality of this properly. Also, because of the privatization of building plan review, there is a need for instruments that guarantee and demonstrate the quality of professional contractors. A guideline that is part of the system of recognized quality declarations gives substance to this.

The initiative originated with the Contractors' Federation (AfNL) and is co-sponsored by the AfNL, the Royal Dutch Building Ceramics Association (KNB), The Dutch Insulation Industry (NII), the Mineral Wool Association (MWA) and Gebroeders Bodegraven.
