More certification capacity for Gas Boiler Act!

Limited capacity at certification bodies has played a role in the minister's decision to delay the introduction of the Gas Boiler Act until April 1, 2023. Not enough companies have been certified to legally require certification by January 1, 2023, writes Hugo de Jonge of Housing in a letter to the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, SKG-IKOB Certificatie B.V. has been appointed by the government (TloKB) as an institution to certify to brl 6000-25. This has made more capacity available for the installation sector to have the certification arranged on time. The BRL 6000-25 applies to companies performing work on combustion appliances with a capacity of up to 100 kW. Such as performing work on gas combustion appliances and combustion light supply facilities or flue gas discharge facilities.

Over 50 years of experience

SKG-IKOB Certification, with some 50 years of experience, has earned its spurs in certification of the construction and built environment. ''With certification based on BRL 6000-25, we are now also focusing on the installation sector. Of course, our ambition extends beyond BRL 6000-25 and we want to further broaden our range of services in the installation sector,'' says director Bastiaan Benz, on behalf of SKG-IKOB.

A new certification provider in the installation sector not only provides more choice for installers, this also contributes concretely to solving the certification capacity bottlenecks related to the Gas Boiler Act and the April 1, 2023 deadline. Despite the delay and additional certification capacity, the industry has only five months to be prepared for the Gas Boiler Act! Therefore, do not wait too long and take timely action is the motto.
