First certificate awarded in Geldermalsen

Borgh's Facamax cavity anchor renovation system received the certificate for BRL 2826 and URL 40.01 from SKG-IKOB at the end of April. In addition to the already mandatory CE marking for cavity anchors, the additional tests of the two guidelines give additional assurance to KOMO-certified renovation companies. Facamax is one system for re-anchoring existing masonry facade structures.

EU Directive 305/2011 stipulates that CE marking is mandatory for cavity anchors. SKG-IKOB is notified as Notified Body and tested Borgh's anchor. The tests were carried out on the basis of the harmonized European standard EN 845 for cavity anchors. Tested were various types of masonry (exterior cavity walls) and various types and qualities of interior cavity walls in sand-lime brick and concrete.

Additional tests were also carried out on the basis of BRL 2826 and URL 40.01. This is important for renovation companies working under KOMO process certificates for installing renovation cavity anchors and for masonry renovations; they can apply this anchor without restrictions. And it assures clients of proper execution.
