Airtight construction is a hot topic. The goals for reducing energy consumption are becoming increasingly ambitious. For example, the EPC will be replaced in 2020 by the standards of Nearly Energy Neutral Buildings.
As these requirements increase, the airtightness of the structure becomes increasingly important. The selection of suitable materials for this application is of paramount importance to ensure the airtightness of the building in the long term as well. As of November 15, 2016, the Assessment Guideline 2804-1 for the Certification of sealing products for airtight construction came into effect, which can help designers, contractors and clients make the right choice in this regard.
