How do I apply for OHSAS 18001 certification?

1 Make an appointment with SKG-IKOB

SKG-IKOB will explain all the possibilities relating to acquiring an OHSAS 18001 certificate beforehand so that you know exactly what to expect in terms of effort and investment. Make an appointment.

2 Submit application

This is the official start of the OHSAS 18001 certification process. The first appointment with the SKG-IKOB audit team will be made in order to carry out an admission review.

3 Admission review

The SKG-IKOB audit team will carry out an admission review (audit) in 2 stages to see whether your health & safety management system satisfies the guidelines. The results of the audit will be used to decide whether your company can be certified.

SKG-IKOB will inspect various aspects, including:

  • the control of processes within your organization
  • the degree of management involvement in health & safety policy
  • your organization's health & safety management systems and the way in which the organization meets the legal requirements
  • the way that the criteria for the OHSAS 18001 standard are embedded in your organization's environmental policy and the management and reduction of safety risks

4 Certificate issuance

If all the criteria have been met, SKG-IKOB will issue an AHSOS 18001 certificate. This will be published on the SKG-IKOB website.

5 Periodical checks

Continuity is crucial in certification. Therefore, SKG-IKOB will annually check your organisation's SKG-IKOB OH & S management system to determine whether this system still meets the standards. Make an appointment.
